Autumn Term 1
We’ve had a fantastic start to the year and everyone has settled really well.
We have been looking at number and place value in maths where we’ve looked at finding one more and one less than a given number, working on ordering numbers as well as ordering numbers.
We have spent our first week completing various art activities around the theme of portraits.
We have been enjoying Mr Big and have been setting up our very own Jazz Bands.
Our PE days are Monday afternoons and Wednesday mornings.
If you ever have any questions please feel free to ask or arrange an appointment.
Thank you for all of the parents who came to our Big Draw. It was a success and children enjoyed playing with their thaumatrope.
A warm welcome back after half term.
We have had a busy start to the term, with a road safety workshop where we learned that it’s important to stop, look, listen and think’ when crossing the road. We all got to make our own cars and had lots of fun. Check out our gallery. We were also lucky enough to have an Author visit from David Litchfield who read us his books; ‘The Bear and Piano’ and ‘Giant’. We learned about what it would be like to be an author and an illustrator.
Our class book is currently Supertato (Veggies Assemble), which everyone is enjoying. We are looking different vegetables, healthy eating and will be taking a trip to Sainsburies in the near future.
All of Year One will be going to the Unicorn Theatre on Thursday 23rd November to watch the Velveteen Rabbit.
1LM will also visit Dulwich Library on Wednesday 29th November.
