4JB 2018/19

Welcome to 4JB

Meet the Tudors

We recently had a chance to show off with how much we know about the Terrible Tudors:) during our class assembly. We really enjoyed preparing the assembly  and it clearly showed on stage in the quality of our performance.

ZOO Trip

We recently visited London ZOO. The world has conspired to make the trip a great success 😉 We had perfect weather, perfect transport, perfect parents and, of course, perfect children.

We really enjoyed looking at wild animals in their habitats, it really inspired our work in both,  science and topic. Plus, it was soooo much fun.

We’re all super happy we’re back at school!

We’ve been very busy so far. In Art Project we’ve been exploring Henri Rousseau’s dream landscapes.

We were also inspired by Salvador Dali’s paintings and managed to replicate some of his surrealistic paintings ready for our Art Exhibition in October. Don’t miss out – make sure you come to see our work on 9th and 10th of October.

We have been having lots of fun during the Spring term studying our Global Food topic. First of all, with a chocolate workshop where we learnt about the history and process of chocolate making and got very messy making and tasting chocolates…yum!

We also enjoyed showing off our moves in a very active dance workshop!

We were very lucky to have the chance to see a wonderful rendition of ‘Icarus’ at the Unicorn Theatre. It was a lovely day to be out and about, so we enjoyed eating our lunch and playing near Tower Bridge.

This half term, we have been focusing on our exciting year 4 production of ‘Read All About It’, which has supported us to learn lots about our World War Two topic. I’m sure everyone who saw the play will agree that the children did amazingly well. Well done on a brilliant production year 4!

We also were lucky enough to visit the Imperial War Museum and see some real life artifacts from World War 2.

We had lots of fun experimenting during Science Week, especially making lava lamps in our PJ’s on red nose day! We learnt about a range of beautiful galaxies from across the universe and tried to recreate their beauty in our lava lamps.

Have a great Easter holiday and see you in the summer term!

It has been a very fun and very sunny summer term! Here we are making our Viking villages…

We had a great time visiting the Herne Hill Velodrome during healthy week. We tried mountain biking and track racing!

We have been looking forward to our Pizza party all year and it didn’t disappoint! Yummy wood-fired pizzas in the sunny nature garden was a lovely way to end what has been a fantastic year.

Thanks to all of 4JB and their families for a wonderful year! Have a lovely summer holiday everyone! x
