Welcome to Summer 1
This term our science is based on living things and their habitats
We sorted animals using a branching tree diagram.
We visited the nature garden to explore creatures in their habitats.
And spent some time with the chickens….
This term we are studying Vicious Vikings
We hare using an ipad app to make a Viking speak.
We saw some brooches at The Museum Of London and decided to make some of our own.
In literacy we are reading How To Train Your Dragon.
We invented some dragons of our own.

We went on a trip to the institute of Imagination, where we explored different ways to channel our creativity.
We visited the latest exhibition at Dulwich Picture Gallery , then returned for a concert by Norwegian musicians.
On World Book day we held a book Scavenge Hunt around the classroom.
In Science we have been learning about states of matter – as a result our books are rather sticky! We enjoyed a fizzy workshop during Science Week.
This week we have made planes and tested to find out which design would fly the furthest. There was a definite pattern in our results. Keep your finger crossed, we want to win!

Welcome back! This term our topic is
This includes studying where we live – finding out about the physical and human features of the United Kingdom,then comparing these with the USA. .
Can you find out which county Lake Windermere is in? Or find out where Tranmere Rovers play? How many states are there in the USA?
We will also be thinking about how to look after the environment
In literacy we have begun to read The Iron Man
We have been using ‘Graffiti Walls’ to widen our vocabulary.
On Monday we wrote some group poems
This week we had a fun fitness session in the hall.
We began to look at electricity this week
Today we made an iron man
Our trip to the Southwark Recycling Centre was fun and informative.
After reading about some mysterious giant flowers in literacy , we wrote an information text and then explored different ways to join materials to make our own mega-blooms.

On our first day we brought lots of PE kits, book bags and smiles- well done!!
We became a human timeline to understand when the Tudors lived.
The Tudor Rose was a powerful symbol. We made it out of clay.
In PE we showed our superior sense of balance.
We have also tried out Tudor dancing!
In science we have explored digestion, by making teeth, modelling what the stomach does and acting out the process.
This half term we are learning about World War II
We visited The Imperial War Museum to find out about the Home Front
We used Now Press Play to experience the Blitz and Evacuation to support out work in literacy
In DT we made Anderson shelters
Topic homework included wreaths for Remembrance and model planes
In science we have been investigating sound
For Enterprise week we made fabric wreaths and made the most profit!
We have an exciting week 2 – performing in a Jazz concert at the Southbank Centre and going on a trip to the Imperial War museum
