Welcome to 5RS
Hello everyone, same teacher, different building, a few pictures to show you our new classroom, more later once we are up and running!
We welcomed a new class member to 5RS last week and today we were lucky to listen to a presentation that she gave just before lunch.
A photo of some of the fantastic self-portraits, based on the work of Julian Opie and Chris Ofilli, that the children created of themselves in the first week back, other are on display in the top hall lobby.
We attended a brilliant Roman Workshop with Felix and learned about the life of Roman soldiers- oophs -sorry some of the photos are the wrong way round!
Roman shields made by the children and our attempt to create the infamous ‘Testudo’, (tortoise) shield formation of the Roman army – although it looks like some people may end up being hit by an arrow if they don’t watch out!
Since coming back from half term the children have been working in both English and History lessons on this terms topic -Victorian London. They worked really hard towards preparing a class assembly around the use of child labour in Victorian times. They were complimented on their confident and informative and confident performance. A big thank you to everyone at home who helped the children learn their lines!
Next up – Victorian Classroom Experience.
The morning in the Victorian Classroom was very realistic and the teachers really scary!
