This term we will be learning all about Japan. In our English lessons, we have appreciated and written Haiku poetry as well as using the book ‘The Strange Case of Origami Yoda’ as a stimulus for our writing. We have studied artwork by Hokusai and created our own versions inspired by his work.
We have also been studying water, coasts and rivers this term during our Splash topic. We created aerial maps to show rivers from above. We visited Dulwich Picture Gallery where we made a seascape collage of fish.
Check out our work on the Maya during the Autumn term.

We recently worked with the company Cardboard Cameras creating animations about the environment. ‘Animate for the Environment’ is a project funded by the Newcomen Collett Foundation to engage children with how to reduce their environmental impact in their day-to-day lives. We came up with a character in order to spread our message to the world. The project will run in lots of different primary schools throughout Southwark over the coming year.
