This is the AM and PM Ladybird classes.
We have been reading the book Owl Babies in nursery, so for our first class outing we visited the nature garden to collect twigs, leaves and other pieces of foliage to make our own nests! We had a great time whilst we were in the nature garden and also on our return to class where we made some small and large scale nests. Here are some highlights. Ladybird class are very enthusiastic readers! As the year progresses I am sure we will continue to see fantastic progress in literacy and they will all be ready for a bit of Dickens come the Summer term.

We have been reading the book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt in nursery for the past two weeks. The children have absolutely loved the book and the different activities we have been doing in class related to it. This culminated in us visiting the nature garden and going on our very own bear hunt! After finding the bear we ate our delicious cucumber sandwiches which we had made in class the previous day. Here are some of the highlights of our adventure.
Recently we had great fun making moon biscuits in class. We really enjoy baking in Ladybird class and will continue to cook and bake throughout the year.
We have been extremely busy in the second half of the autumn term we have been taking part in big draw Fridays. where we practice writing taught sounds and letters from our name on a big scale outside. Here are some photos from a recent session.

We had great fun at our Christmas party. We played lots of games, danced and had delicious party food!
Our class have really embraced and are enjoying our weekly maths challenge. This challenge was trying to find objects in our learning environments and relate them to 2d shapes using some mathematical language.
We enjoyed yet another fantastic early years celebration day. A massive thanks to all the parents that came along.
We had a great time at our Now Press Play workshop. We listened carefully to the instructions through our headset and learnt all about creepy crawlies. This is the second time we have used Now Press Play and have found it a very useful, active and fun resource. We will be using it to support our literacy topics in the upcoming months.
We have really enjoyed the whole school science week. We had a really exciting workshop where the highlight was definitely the slime!
