Autumn Term 2014
The children have been settling into Moonbeam Class and have enjoyed exploring new activities.
The children celebrated Bonfire night by creating pictures in the style of Jackson Pollock and using their imagination to move like fireworks through music and movement.
The children enjoyed reading the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’ and as part of their literacy they made turnip soup and wrote instructions on how to make it.
The children read the ‘Funnybones’ story by Janet Ahlberg. As part of their understanding of the world the children made puppets and explored making shadows.
The children met Steve Grochott and learnt lots of new songs and how to use rhythm sticks.
The children had a very special visit from the fire brigade. They were also able to use a hose and try on a fireman’s uniform.
Spring Term 2015
The children have started the new term with a space theme. They have enjoyed reading the story ‘What Ever Next’ by Jill Murphy. The children have acted out the story through dramatic literacy and through role play in our space station.
The children have been using a range of materials to make their own space pictures.
Moonbeam class dressed up as different characters and celebrated world book day.
The children in Moonbeam have been learning their number bonds to 5 and 10.
The children have been working together to predict and test how to make the biggest bubbles with a range of different resources.
