Welcome to the Nursery Webpage.
We have had an excellent and busy start to our first term at school and have settled into our daily routines extremely well. Here are some snippets of what we’ve been up to in our first two weeks.
The children have been playing and exploring in both our inside and outside learning environments.
Singing, dancing and playing musical instruments.
Painting and drawing Self- portraits
Role play and dressing up
Making a start with phonics
and generally having lots of fun…
Autumn 2
We’ve held workshops within the nursery for parents in home learning, maths and literacy. The links between home and school are very important to us and the feedback and involvement from parents has been fantastic.
We have been learning about shapes and where we see them within our environment. Children particularly enjoyed the shape hunts.
We’ve really enjoyed singing our phonics and alphabet songs and the children like to take on the role of the teacher and ‘teach’ their friends how to sing the songs whilst in free flow.
We’ve continued to practice our mark making, the children are starting to form recognisable letters and write their names using different materials and media
We’ve been practicing our counting, numeral recognition and maths skills using a range of different resources.
The children have enjoyed incorporating our topic focus books in role-play, construction and small world activities with their friends.
They have had great fun in various music and drama workshops throughout the term and have been inspired to create their own boyband!
Lots of fun at the creative table, making food and creating potions for those pesky aliens?!
And we had a great Christmas Party.
