Year 3 and 4 Indoor Athletics – 23rd January, 2015
Bessemer’s Year 3 and four team (plus our Year 2 superstar, Cori) went to The Charter School to compete in an indoor athletics tournament. The team performed exceptionally well, finishing in first place and bringing back the trophy. Well done to all of the athletes who competed!
Year 5 and 6 Indoor Athletics – 20th January, 2015
Year 5 and 6 travelled to St Martin in the Fields School to compete in an indoor athletics festival. Of the eight schools competing, Bessemer finished in second place and should be proud of their achievements. They were also the first students to wear our new school kit. Maurice Fulcher Cricket Competition – 3rd December, 2014
KS2 students from Bessemer Grange competed in a cricket competition at The Oval last Wednesday. The students progressed to the final and lost in a very close game. Congratulations to all of those who represented our school.
Year 5 Hockey Festival – November 14, 2014
Year 5 attended a hockey Festival on Friday along with four of our local schools. The event was a non-competitive day whereby the students could meet play with children from other schools. Year 5 should be proud of their behaviour and sporting conduct on the day. Many of the Year 5 athletes made friends from other schools too!
Autumn Football Leagues
All through the autumn term, KS2 have competed in football leagues around the borough of Southwark. The students in these leagues tirelessly played each week after school and are to be commended on their commitment in giving up their time to represent the school. I would also like to extend a thank you to the parents of the competing students who have been very supportive in allowing their children to compete.
Year 3/4 Girls Cluster Home and Away League
Our girls team competed every Thursday night during Autumn 2 in a league that took them to many local school. The girls performed especially well, making it to the grand final and losing on penalties (9-8). The girls are to be commended on their sportsmanship and positive attitude towards the game.
Year 3/4 Boys Cluster Home and Away League
Our boys team competed every Thursday night during Autumn 2 in a home and away league that took them to many local schools. The boys finished the league in 4th place. The team showed rapid progress in their skills and strategy over the course of the league and are to be congratulated for their efforts.
KS2 Girls LPSSN League
Our KS2 team travelled to Geraldine Mary Hamsworth Sporting Facility every Thursday to compete in the league involving schools across Southwark. The team finished the league in 4th place.
KS2 Boys LPSSN League
Our KS2 team travelled to Geraldine Mary Hamsworth Sporting Facility every Thursday to compete in the league involving schools across Southwark. The team finished the league in 7th place.
Year 3 Cluster Football Festival – 21st October, 2014
On the 21st October, our Year 3 mixed football team travelled to The Charter School to compete in the Cluster Football Festival. The team did especially well and went through the tournament undefeated, bringing the winners’ trophy back to Bessemer.
Year 5 and 6 Cross Country Running – 1st October, 2014
Congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 cross country team who competed in the LPSSN Cross Country Festival. Both boys and girls performed very well and Bessemer Grange finished the day overall in 2nd place.
KS2 Mixed Football Festival – 23rd September, 2014
Bessemer Grange competed in the KS2 LPSSN Mixed football festival on the 23rd September, 2014. The team displayed a high level football and were commended on their teamwork and passing.
