1EB 2016/17

Welcome to 1EB

This half term we have enjoyed a trip to the Horniman museum where we explored different animals and their habitats.  We loved our bike day in Dulwich park where we took part in different activities.

We have enjoyed getting ready for carnival by researching different reptiles.  We have used a batik technique to create banners and made masks and instruments.

We kicked off our science topic ‘animals including humans’ by drawing around Harley and labelling the different parts of our bodies.  We talked about what the different body parts do.   We also looked at various animals including guinea pigs which we even got to have a stroke.

We learnt about protecting green spaces and here we are visiting Greendale opposite school.   We have enjoyed another trip to the library this term.

As part of our topic ‘looking after our world’   we made globes using papier mache.

Here we are enjoying a trip to the Museum of Childhood as part of our ‘Toys’ topic.

1EB loved taking part in science week by making spaghetti towers, slime and changing materials with the Mad Scientists.

We have got off to a great start in 1EB and have been busy inside and outside in our courtyard.  We have visited the nature garden to feed the chickens and observe different flowers for our art project.

In English we have enjoyed reading the story of ‘Mr Big’ by Ed Verve and have been working with number and place value in Maths.

Our PE days will be on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Here we are enjoying a visit from the author and illustrator, John Kelly.

We enjoyed attending a drama workshop where we went on a safari.

We all became ‘Roadwise Rangers’ during this road safety show.  We loved watching the puppets and joining in with the songs and understand how important it is to stop, look and listen.

This term we have enjoyed a trip to the Albany Theatre to watch ‘The Snail and the Whale’  as well as a visit to Dulwich Library.

We hope your liked our super seasons calendars that we sold at the Winter fair.  We loved making them out of our hand prints.

Thank for to everyone who came to watch our winter sing-a-long, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
