Welcome to 4SB’s page. We have started the year extremely well and have already done some fantastic work. Here are some examples of what we have done; book reviews, news articles and self portraits that focus on our identity with the use of colour and extra images.
Our topic this half term is ‘London at War’. We will be finding out key facts about World War 2 with a focus on what it was like for people in London, especially children. In English we are reading ‘The Lion and the Unicorn’ which explores what it was like to be evacuated.
In Science we are learning about Habitats.
What a busy year we have had!
This half term the children have greatly enjoyed our cricket lessons from local cricket coaches.
In science we have been learning about Electricity. We have had great fun making circuits, learning how switches work and testing materials to see if they are electrical conductors or insulators. We used this to think about why wires are usually covered in plastic coating.
We have had fun learning about The Vikings. The children have learnt about the history of Viking invasions and mapped different places they invaded as well as where they came from. They have enjoyed learning about Viking warriors and Gods and have enjoyed creating some Art work of a God if their choice. They have designed brooches in the style of Viking brooches and will make them this week.
We are all looking forward to the excitement of the last half term and our final topics of the year.
What a fantastic day we had today!. The velodrome was especially fun. Here are some pictures of our visit.
