If you have just joined us, F@B is your Parent Teacher Association (PTA) – a group of volunteer parents/carers whose aim is to create events which provide opportunities for Bessemer families to socialise and enjoy themselves, and in doing so raise money for the school. And the more people involved with F@B the merrier.
Thanks to all the parents and F@B for organising a fantastic Eid Celebration on Friday. The food was fabulous and donations were greatly recieved.
Please see our report for this year to see how and what we have been up to. We congratulate and welcome our new members to F@B and would like to thank our team for this year for all of their hard work and effort.
On 9th June, 15 brave Bessemer parents cycled from Bessemer to Brighton to raise money for the school. We have raised over £2,000 so far – thank you to all the organisers, cyclists, support drivers and to everyone who donated to support them. You can still donate until the end of June 2019. https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/danwhite1
This year we supported the schools science week by running an exciting science fair.
School’s out for Summer!
What a great end to the year – the Summer Fair raised over £3000! The day wasn’t possible without people’s support and generous contributions, so thank you to everyone who helped make the fair the success and fun day in the sun that it turned out to be.
Bessemer was lucky enough to be chosen as a Sustrans ‘Bike It’ school, and loads of teachers and pupils are cycling to school. So many that we sometimes don’t have enough space to put all the bikes! We are going to raise money for improved bike storage by doing a Sponsored Bike Ride and Scoot during National Bike Week . If you can help with organisation in advance or help out on the day, please contact Henrietta Collier (firstname.lastname@example.org) to volunteer. We’ll need help from cyclists and non-cyclists, with refreshments, marshalling the event and monitoring our total distance cycled.
Oliver Jeffers is one of the most popular authors of our children’s generation, with award winning books including How to Catch a Star, Lost and Found, Up and Down, The Way Back Home and The Heart and Bottle. His latest book – the Day the Crayons Quit, in collaboration with Drew Daywalt – is a New York Times #1 Bestseller.
There are lots of ways for Bessemer parents to support F@B.
